As schools let out for summer and beach vacations edge closer, the recent Gulf of Mexico oil spill has many travelers questioning if their long-awaited Florida getaways will be ruined. With the oil spill not directly impacting Chesapeake-Resort, located along Islamorada’s pristine beachfront, the resort offers Natural Beach Guarantee.
The guarantee promises that Chesapeake-Resort's beaches will be oil free during a guest’s stay. If the vacation is disrupted*, Chesapeake-Resort will refund the first night of a guest’s stay. The refund, in effect until Sept. 30, 2010, is applicable for two-night-minimum stays and includes room, resort fee and taxes. Reservations must be booked prior to beach disruption.
* A disruption occurs when impacts from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico require a governmental agency to actively clean the resort’s beaches, or if a governmental agency closes the resort’s beaches due to public safety concerns related to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Natural Beach Guarantee applicable only during dates requiring beach closure and/or beach cleanup.
